Forum History

The First Russian IR Forum was held on September 26, 2008 in Moscow by the Institute for Development of Financial Markets. The very fact of holding the forum which gathered more than 130 participants shows the growing interest of the Russian IR community to the issues of financial communications and relations with investors.

The forum drew attention to information disclosure issues: requirements of the Federal Financial Markets Service, current initiatives of the Financial Communications and Investor Relations Association, as well as questions of efficient usage of stock market opportunities for increasing company’s investment attractiveness. Russian IR specialists were demonstrated best practices of building efficient IR communications and action strategies in various situations, as well as key mechanisms and nuances of interaction between the issuer and financial markets.

Participants of the annual Russian IR Forum reacted to this event more than positively. The Russian IR community seek to get as much information as possible about building efficient communications with investors. Multiple factors make IR specialists more and more in demand with the increasing attention to building relations with investors for the company's further successful development.  

The Second Russian IR Forum took place on September 25, 2009 at the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) Congress Hall.

The organizer of the IR Forum was the Institute for Development of Financial Markets - the exclusive representative of the IRS (Investor Relations Society, London, UK) in Russia and the CIS. The Forum also provided an opportunity for the prize-awarding ceremony "Thomson Reuters Extel Survey - Focus Russia 2009" held by Thomson Reuters and Interfax Business Service.  

The IR Forum attracted the leading experts of the Russian IR community, including heads of IR departments, vice-presidents for corporate communications, corporate governance and strategic development directors, CFOs, IR project managers, corporate secretaries and experts from consulting companies.

The IR Forum program included topical sessions, discussion panels, and exclusive presentations given by representatives of federal agencies, famous IR specialists, representatives of the largest Russian and Western companies, as well as investment banks and leading media companies.

IR Forum is the largest Russian annual event devoted to financial communications and relations with investors.
